We started importing contemporary hardwood furniture in 1998, mainly from India. Since then our reach has grown significantly to include Contemporary and Traditional furniture sourced from factories all over the world. We also have our own factory in the South of Malaysia where we are able to design, develop and import our own exclusive products.

All of our shops stock virtually the same furniture ranges, which we source directly from the manufacturer, and which we are able offer at incredible value for money prices all year round. In fact our core Principle is to Deliver Great Value For Money. When you visit our showrooms you will see and feel that for yourself. Almost all of our furniture is built in solid hardwood using selected materials, great design and proper construction methods. We know you will notice the difference immediately.

Our Showrooms in Gloucester and Cirencester use the original Brand of 'The Furniture Importers Warehouse' and our new Cheltenham outlet store uses the new 'Cotswold Living' brand, the people, the furniture and the prices are same at all of our showrooms so drop into any of then and you can be sure of a warm welcome from our knowledgeable staff who are rightly proud of the furniture we sell.

Frequently asked questions

Where is the furniture imported from?
Mainly China, India and Malaysia but we do source from factories all over the world, we meet all of our suppliers personally and their factories have all passed a rigorous audit to ensure their quality of care is applied to the furniture and their workforce.

Is the wood from sustainable sources?
We try our best to ensure that all our furniture is environmentally sound. Our manufacturers are instructed only to buy from managed plantations and we carry out regular checks. Where possible we use fast growing hardwoods such as Kembang Semangkok.

Is Child labour involved?
Absolutely not. With any of the factories we deal with, they would lose our business if we found out otherwise.

How is the furniture made?
Nearly all the furniture is made largely by hand. The Chinese and Malaysian factories have mechanised rapidly, adapting to western factory standards very quickly but maintaining a large element of hand finishing. All the wood used in our products has been kiln dried to a moisture content of around 8%. This greatly reduces the risk of any movement during the life of the piece.

Do you deliver?
Yes, but it is not free, there is no such thing. Some companies build delivery cost into their retail prices, we do not. Charges begin at £20. We are able to arrange delivery Nationwide and even Internationally. Please contact the relevant store for a quote.
